When a girl is going through puberty many things are happening in her body at the same time, her breasts are changing in size and shape, her hips are widening, she is growing taller, and there are also changes in her reproductive system such as the maturing of her eggs and the beginning of her menstrual cycle. She will also grow hair under her arm as well as on her pubic region. She will now have to be concerned about issues having to do with sex as this can mean either pregnancy and/or sexually transmitted diseases. All these changes in a female's body are due to the changes in her hormones and this can cause her to be moody and have bursts of anger. This can be a very confusing time for them as they are wrestling with still being a child but also becoming an adult. They will also have the responsibility of figuring out how to take care of themselves as it relates to what they need in order to properly take care of their monthly flow so as not to have to deal with the embarrassment of their clothes being soiled every month. They will also have to be dealing with crushes that they will develop on boys and fighting against their natural sexual urges and the usual peer pressure to have sex; sometimes when they do not even really want to, as they are not yet emotionally or mentally prepared for it. It is therefore very important that they be given all the necessary information with respect to what to expect when they enter puberty as well as what to do in relation to all the changes that are taking place in their body.Table of ContentsPublishers NotesDedicationPuberty; A DefinitionYour Height : What Happens To Girls Growing TallerEating Healthy And Maintaining A Healthy WeightGetting Rid Of The PimplesGrowing Breasts What You Should KnowYour Reproductive System : How It Works For GirlsWhy Your Period Is So Important For GirlsWhat You Need To Know About BoysWhat Every Teenage Girl Should Know About Sex
