The Quality of Growth

The study takes a broad look at what is meant by development. It takes account of institutional and political factors as key determinants of growth. The concept of growth is considered in terms of being a means to human welfare, and not as an end in itself. The central theme of this publication is that there is a real need for fundamental examination of the factors that contribute to growth if global poverty is to be reduced and a better quality of life attained by all.
