As a staff developer and the author of many shared reading books, including Who's in the Shed?, The Enormous Watermelon, and the Royal Dinner, Brenda Parkes is uniquely placed to write this book. She began her career as an early childhood teacher in New Zealand and Australian classrooms and later become a faculty member at Griffith University, Queensland, where her research and teaching centered on early literacy learners and learning. She has presented keynote papers, workshops, and seminars in Australia, England, Canada, and the United States. She lives in Australia with her husband, David, and Shetland sheepdog, Max.
