ENGLISH DESCRIPTION

This edition follows the definitive text endorsed by The Orwell Foundation.

A resounding plea for freedom and against totalitarianism, one that has become a classic of 20th century literature.

This satire of the Russian Revolution and the triumph of Stalinism, written in 1945, has become, in its own right, a landmark of contemporary culture and one of the most scathing books of all time. Faced with the rise of the animals of the Manor Farm, we soon detect the seeds of totalitarianism in an apparently ideal organization, and, in our most charismatic leaders we see the shadow of the cruelest oppressors.

This edition, endorsed by The Orwell Foundation, faithfully follows the definitive text of theauthor's complete works, set forth by Professor Peter Davison. It includes an epilogue by journalist and essayist Christopher Hitchens, which highlights the importance of the author in our time. Marcial Souto is in charge of the wonderful translation, which was published for the first time in 2013 and is the most recent one made of the work.
