Jay & Juhi – The Peacock Adventure is a vibrant, imaginative picture book that blends cultural exploration, history, and natural science through the eyes of two curious siblings. When Jay and Juhi's neighbor introduces them to a pet parrot, the children become fascinated by birds and begin researching which one might be right for their family. Their journey leads them to the peacock—a bird so stunning and majestic that it sparks a magical trip across the world to India with the help of their enchanted flute, Soori.

As Jay and Juhi arrive in New Delhi, they meet Nirmal, a friendly local boy who guides them through India's capital and takes them on an exciting ride to the iconic Red Fort. There, they learn about the Peacock Throne, a legendary symbol of royal splendor once adorned with gold, jewels, and intricate carvings of peacocks. While exploring the grounds and imagining the past, the children encounter a real peacock and witness its famous tail display in a powerful moment of natural beauty.

Monica Kumar is a writer, traveler, and mother of two who believes that curiosity is the first step toward understanding the world. Her love for exploring different cultures and places shines through in her writing, where she invites readers—especially young ones—on journeys that open minds and spark wonder. Through her books, she hopes to encourage a lifelong love of learning and discovery.



Manisha Kumar was inspired to write children's books following the birth of her first son, hoping to share and celebrate her culture through storytelling.
