Regulation of Enforcement Agents in Europe

The fruits of a European Commission funded research project undertaken in 2000-2001. The book reviews the fundamental concepts and history relating to the regulation of enforcement agents and goes on to compare regulation in England, Scotland, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden and Denmark. The issues considered include qualifications, training and method of appointment; range of activities; territorial competence, communication, co-operation and competition; forms of organisation; insurance and indemnity arrangements; professional bodies; supervision and discipline; remuneration and other incentives. It also compares access to information about the debtor, and the costs of enforcement.The work is now dated, but I have been led to understand it may still prove to be of use and interest.
