The Rise and Fall of Hollywood

Volume One: The early years (1831 to 1970), is a true account of the pioneers that built Hollywood, and of the politics, intrigue, murder, suicide, and drug abuse that finally ruined this modern-day Sodom. Unlike teachers, Hollywood stars never attain tenure. They work only so long as their film roles produce profit. Their fame continues only so long as a great number of movie goers continue to believe in their radient persona and thus attend the films they appear in, and it is clear that it is psychologically devestating to attain star status, even to a minor extent, and then to lose it. Here is the history of the city and the celebrities that lost that their star status and couldn't accept their failure; celebrites that were murdered because of their fame, celebrities that couldn't resist the temptation of easily obtainable corporal pleasures such as uninhibited sexual frolicking, careless use of drugs and alchohol, and a meglomanic tendency to allow fame to twist their minds to delusional fantasies of power and omnipotence.
