This book provides a tour through the rich architectural history of the South, examining 39 great Southern houses, each one open to the public, from Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Florida, Tennessee, Kentucky, Maryland, and Washington, DC. The houses featured in the book represent 300 years of architecture and cover a broad range of styles, many of them are typically Southern, while others are not and will provide a fresh perspective on what a great house of the South is.
