Walking to My Promised Land

From a young soldier to a POW to a man just trying to get home to his young wife. This is the story of Worth Hampton, told in his own words, of how he survived 27 months in German POW camps during WWII. His training as a soldier, his love of God and country and a brand new wife gave him the determination to make it home to his "promised land".

Ellen Dickson, the daughter of Worth Hampton, lives in South Carolina with her husband, James. Retired from retail sales, she enjoys traveling and spending time with children, grandchildren and great -grandchildren. She and her two brothers, grew up hearing stories told by her Dad but did not understand completely until she started reading her Dad's story and putting his letters to her Mom together. As she worked on putting them together, she decided it was a "story that had to be told."
