AIDS in the World II

AIDS in the World, Volume 1, published in 1992, was the first fullanalysis of the global confrontation with this disease. The AIDS scene has beenchanging so rapidly that an early second volume is needed. The authors willextend the international comparisons from 38 countries to the entire world, showthat the AIDS pandemic has becom increasingly fragmented within the worldpopulation, present data to go beyond the current understanding of thevulnerability of nations and communities to the major spread of HIV, and discussin depth the social strategies that have enabled individuals to avoid infection.They will also place much more emphasis on the vulnerabilities of different ageand sex groups, e.g. infants, children and women.
