Legal Limits of the Fight Against Tobacco Consumption in Multi-level Governance

By taking into consideration the current efforts to tighten the rules on tobacco use, this book examines the international, European, and constitutional boundaries which are subject to the legislature for such interventions. The book focuses on the first revision of the forthcoming European Union directive on tobacco products. Furthermore, the book turns to the possible implementation of the guidelines for the World Health Organization's framework convention on tobacco use by the EU's Member States and highlights the substantive limits of this project.
