He led the team to four World Cups, and won the Bronze medal in the 1960 Summer Olympics and the Gold medal in the 1964 Summer Olympics. Other teams he had coached include: Gyri ETO, Vasas SC, jpest FC, Wacker Innsbruck, S.L. Benfica, and the Peru national football team. During his playing career, he played for Szeged AK and Gyri ETO.
