The year is 1960, and four year old JR is playing hide and seek with his sister Ana. While running around a parked car, he is startled to find a beautiful woman sitting on the road next to the car door. On the ground he notices blood that is spreading rapidly around the woman. She has a chest wound. He had chased his sister around the same car a minute earlier, and the sudden appearance of the ghostly image frightens him. When the woman looks up from her wound, her doleful eyes frighten the little boy, and he runs off to his mother's side. A minute later a ranting, angry mob of machete wielding men pass on the same street, only none of it seems to alert JR's mother or the friend she is talking to, as if it hadn't happened; perhaps because JR and Ana are the only two who can see the ghostly visions. The mystery woman remains in JR's life throughout the years, and he often sees visions of her in unexpected places. Twenty years later he encounters Lizzy in his Queens, New York neighborhood, and he is overcome by a strange feeling that he has met her before. He cannot get over the mysterious sensations each time he runs into her, and while their lives take different turns, and they marry different people, a strange force keeps pulling them together, until one day JR discovers the secret love affair from the past responsible for their attraction. Set in New York, Florida, and Puerto Rico, this part true-life love story of Lizzy and JR, and part paranormal romance spanning three generations, is the journey two lovers must take while trying to figure out what strange force keeps bringing them together, until they finally realize the secret truth. The story will leave you believing that the power of love can reach across time.
