"SHARDS" is rated R, occasionally bordering on X. It is a work of fiction, but the players are as true as the author could make them. There is inescapable sin, which binds all of us, in some of its ugly manifestations, and even strange love.

Griffin, Lazarus, Judas and The Good Thief, Chuck the pencil-dick Eagle Scout and Sybil the witch, the Whore of Babylon, Superbia the White Witch, Big Gula (all tits and ass), Pomona the Indian mountain spirit, "Cucumber" Rodriguez and "Teapot", Satan, "Handcuffs" the police chief, Ginger the spitfire, Dirty Ramona, George the bouncer, Horny Bill, Dom the power-walker, Debbie Reynolds, Liz Taylor, Liberace, the elusive Bobbaloo, Tyrone Jiggetts, Fred ("Tick") Buffaloe and Jimmy the Golden Guinea.

Domenic Fiore Brunelli grew up in a Little Italy neighborhood of Philadelphia and was the first on either side of his family to attend and graduate from college. He worked for 37 years as a pre-sentence investigator for the judges of the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania. In that job, he investigated thousands of criminals, from misdemeanants to hired assassins. He followed his inquiries with nearly 3,000 long, narrative reports, but has branched out to creative writing since retirement. He is married with two adult children and now lives with his wife in a suburban community outside Philly. Dom enjoys working out and power-walking in his leisure time.
