Sikya

Musical score to Sikya, for Solo Voice with Shakers or Rattles, by avant-garde composer Dawn K. Williams. The work is a setting of a Papago poem depicting butterflies in flight, and may be performed by any voice type. A rhythmic pulse drives a combination of sung, spoken, whispered, and shouted sounds, alternating lines of the poem with vocables.
