Small Property Versus Big Government

This is the story of citizens who were so outraged at their property tax bills that they stormed into city hall to protest. Much has been written about the tax revolt, and about Proposition 13 in particular. This book, unlike others, does not focus on the effects of tax limitation on schools or city budgets. It does not particularly probe into the life and work of Howard Jarvis, the media-appointed hero of Proposition 13. Nor does it ask why millions of voters gave 'Prop 13' such a resounding endorsement.
