SHARON TABERSKI teaches at the Manhattan New School in New York City and consults throughout the U.S. and Canada. She is a member of the development committee for the Primary Literacy Standards (more commonly known as the New Standards) by the National Center on Education and the Economy and the University of Pittsburgh. She is author of the video series A Close-Up Look at Teaching Reading: Focusing on Children and Our Goals (Heinemann, 1996), as well as editor of the childrens poetry anthology Morning, Noon, and Night: Poems to Fill Your Day (Mondo, 1996) and regular contributor to periodicals such as Language Arts and Instructor. Sharon is also the author of On Solid Ground: Strategies for Teaching Reading K-3.
