Southern Folk

Southern Folk is a highly imaginative fiction series which follows the residents of Toff Boulevard in upscale Mountain Brook, Alabama, an urban village in the contemporary American South. In the opening book of the series, A Kidnapping on the Boulevard, a mild-mannered Alabama housewife makes a dash for freedom and is transformed into the hero of her destiny, overcoming adversity and throwing off the shackles of her former life, a rebirth that takes place offstage and is gradually revealed, building to a dramatic conclusion. Events congeal in a bizarre kidnapping in the Alabama-hothouse of outrageously depicted and never-ending Yankee oppression, hurling her through the abyss and into a different world where she blooms into a heroine.
