Spain and the Mediterranean Since 1898

This is the first collection of articles in English devoted to Spain's relations with the Mediterranean countries in the 20th Century. It focuses on Spain's shift of emphasis from Latin American to the Mediterranean basin after the loss of its last colonies in the New World in 1898. The contributors analyse the Mediterranean policy of Spain's different regimes: the Bourbon monarchy, Primo de Rivera's dictatorship, the Second Republic, Francoism and post-Franco democracy.
