Art O Maolfabhail was Chief Placenames Officer of the Irish national mapping agency, Ordnance Survey, Dublin, from 1976 to 1997 and during the same period he was Secretary of the Irish Government's Placenames Commission. He is a recognized poet and authority on the history of hurling. Michel Raspaud is a Professor at Lille 2 University. Gareth Williams teaches history at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth.
