St Kild : Past and Present (1878)

St. Kilda has a magic and allure that are both enduring and difficult to explain. From earliest times, its remoteness and the strangeness of life of its inhabitants have attracted attention. George Seton visited the island, off the west coast of the Outer Hebrides, in the summer of 1876. This reprinted title summarizes previous accounts of the island and surveys local incidents since the beginning of the seventeenth century.
