Suicidal Behaviour: Assessment of People provides a psychometric analysis of various aspects associated with suicidal risk assessment to understand the suicidal personality and predict suicidal behavior. It includes articles by experts in the field covering suicide research carried out globally. The discussion begins with a contextualization of the psychological factors implicated in the aetiology of suicidal behavior with the help of a biopsychosocial model and is followed by an empirical analysis. The theoretical issues are then examined from various perspectives. Updesh Kumar is a senior scientist who looks after the Officers' Selection System of the Armed Forces and is involved in research pertaining to suicidology, mental health, personnel selection and test development on psychometric principles. He has undertaken many research projects related to suicide and fratricide among the armed forces and has published his articles in various journals and DRDO publications. Manas K. Mandal is Outstanding Scientist and Director of DIPR since 2004. Earlier he has served as a professor of psychology at IIT Kharagpur. He has been a Fulbright fellow and later a Fulbright visiting lecturer at Harvard University. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes.
