Sustainable Diplomacieslooks at how to create conditions for the reconciliation of rival ways of living, the formation of durable relationships and the promotion of global peace and security. The authors draw inspiration from the history of diplomatic thought as well as from environmental, anthropological, religious and postcolonial studies.

Costas M. Constantinou is Professor of International Relations at the University of Nicosia, Cyprus. His research interests include diplomacy, conflict, international political theory and legal norms and exceptions. He is the author of On the Way to Diplomacy (1996) and States of Political Discourse (2004) and is the co-editor of Cultures and Politics of Global Communication (2008). James Der Derian is Watson Institute Professor of International Studies (Research) at Brown University, USA, where he directs the Innovating Global Security and Media project. His most recent books are Virtuous War: Mapping the Military-Industrial-Media-Entertainment Network (2nd edn 2009) and Critical Practices in International Theory (2009).
