Laurie Halse Anderson is the author of inspired books for children of all ages. Her novel Speak was a 1999 National Book Award finalist. Laurie is also a descendant of the heroine Sarah Josepha Hale, and like her ancestor, is a long-time proponent of Thanksgiving feasts. The author lives in Ambler, Pennsylvania, with her two teenage daughters.
