He was detached from the United States steamer Franklin, 1 May, 1868, and ordered to the Frolic. He made a cruise in the Mediterranean Squadron under Admiral Farragut, visiting Constantinople, Petersburg, and other stations; returned to America, 1 May, 1869; ordered to the Severn, 27 August, 1869, and served on board the Severn until August, 1870, in the West Indies. Since August, 1870, he has been engaged in navigation duty at Boston, Mass., and will continue until August, 1871.
