A Tiger Named Spot

A Tiger Named Spot was born different than the other tigers. This cub had spots instead of stripes! As he grew, he questioned his parents about his appearance. He asked why he was different. He asked why other tigers have stripes. And most of all, he wondered if he was the only one who was different. His parents answer most of his questions. But the last one gets answered at the end when Spot is invited to a s'mores party. This beautifully illustrated rhyming tale is engaging for small children because it's both colorful and comical. But on a deeper level, it's about appreciating differences in ourselves and others. There is more than one way to reach a goal. Sometimes what at first seems to be a weakness is a strength. It's just in camouflage.

Inga Buccella is an author and illustrator of many Children's books, a novel, and a book of poetry. She is inspired by both nature and history. For over ten years, she has created custom pet renderings for her Etsy shop clients. Cats, dogs, ferrets, lizards, and even a pet pig have been subjects for her almost one thousand renderings.
Inspired by historic Cape May, New Jersey, Inga wrote a novel featuring dual timelines entitled In the Age of Buoyancy. That story led to her writing a children's book set in colonial times for the Greater Cape May Historical Society. Waves of Independence, celebrates America's 250th year of independence. A Coloring book with the same title is now available. The storybook will be released in 2026.

Her most recent picture books, Pignoli the Pig, No One Like Ewe, and A Tiger Named Spot, were all imagined stories created with three special little ones in mind.

When not writing her own stories, Inga Buccella is reading books, and also writing book reviews for Reader's Favorite, or creating art with her grandchildren.
