Trobadorlyrik in Deutscher Übersetzung

The survey follows the structure of the »Bibliography of the Troubadours« by Alfred Pillet and Henry Carstens (Halle an der Saale, Niemeyer, 1933) and provides a bibliographic list of translations of troubadour poetry into German. The survey covers the entire German-language literature on medieval Provencal poetry, from the beginnings of scholarly engagement with the troubadours in the 18th century up to the year 2001. The volume is addressed both to scholars working in cultural and translation studies and to those specializing in Romance studies. The bibliography encompasses both poetic renderings of old Provencal poetry and scholarly translations, such as those found in critical text editions.
