The True Christian Religion Containing the Universal Theology of the New Church

Swedenborg, a noted Swedish scientist, philosopher and theologian, best known for his later writings, in which he presents ideas both Christian and ecumenical, for a new spiritual era or new church to be known as the New Jerusalem. In The True Christian Religion, his last published work, Swedenborg details the universal theology of the new church, and informs mankind that with the advent of the New Church, now it is permitted to enter with understanding into the mysteries of faith. The publication of The True Christian Religion marked the culmination of Swedenborg's dual mission—to serve as an instrument for the establishment of a new heaven, and a new church on earth.
