The Two Americas

The vast landmass of the Americas and the rest of the world lay unknown to each other half a millennium back. The tale of interaction between the peoples of the two parts of the globe that came to be known as the Old World and the New World has many a painful and heartrending passages, yet the story has been a fascinating one. The book attempts to recapitulate the past and endeavours to present a comprehensive survey of the New World that today comprises of over four dozen political units in its three segments of North America, South America and the Caribbeans. The book in its gamut not only traverses through each of the present day political units of the land but also discusses its specific geologic, geographic, archaeological, historic, cultural, social and economic contours.
