Two of Them

Mitch and Chance are roommates, co-workers, and best friends who make their living working for a video game corporation - Mitch writes the user manuals, and Chance tests - OK, plays - them. Between Mitch's knack for putting off his novel and Chance's blatant disregard for anything resembling responsibility, they're likely never going to grow up, much less discontinue the indoor barbecuing on hockey nights ritual. That is, until the night when Ellie walks into their local dive and into Mitch's life. As their relationship begins to grow, Mitch starts to believe that his life of chaos may be ending - whether he wants it to or not. Chance certainly has no interest in anything ending, and isn't very happy about the new relationship. But once Ellie introduces Chance to her equally crass friend Danni, Mitch's chaos isn't ending... in fact, it's only beginning. Now Mitch must somehow resist all the schemes that Chance tries to force on him, cope with Ellie's ever-increasing expectations of him, manage those two opposing personality types, and... oh yeah, write that damn book, too. If only he could un-whiten his teeth, un-go to Mexico, un-buy that timeshare, or even just un-steal that damn car, he and Ellie might have a chance. Lord knows, even if everything goes right, they still have a Chance between them.
