Union Revitalisation in Advanced Economies Assessing the Contribution of Union Organising

After a decade of "union organizing" in Britain, the time has come to make a thoroughgoing assessment of it. This book evaluates the efficacy of the union organizing in terms of union strategies, tactics, styles and resources, and assesses the impact of differing regulatory regimes on union organizing.

GREGOR GALL is Research Professor of Industrial Relations and Director of the Centre for Research in Employment Studies at the University of Hertfordshire, UK. His previous work includes two edited volumes on union organizing and books on postal workers, the labor movement in Scotland, sex workers, and finance workers. He writes regular columns for the Morning Star, Solidarity and Guardian’s Comment is Free. A further edited volume on union organizing with Palgrave will be published in 2009.
