This volume compiles selected lectures from the conference on Corporate Criminal Law held in November 2011 at the Goethe University of Frankfurt. It starts with a reflection on the social policy impetus for strengthening corporate orientation toward the common good. Next, the book considers the impact of European legal and economic policies on the intensification and expansion of corporate liability, followed by a survey of the current state of German law, and a presentation of existing regulations outside Germany. Subsequent chapters examine core questions about corporate criminal responsibility from the perspectives of sociology, economics, psychology and philosophy. Additional sections present models for corporate criminal law for German legislators along with alternatives that conform to European law.
