Utilization of Supported Liquid Membrane Technique

In response to increasing concerns over heavy metals and organics contamination of our land and water resources, new economically feasible techniques for effective removal of toxic chemical species need to be developed. Liquid Membrane separation technology is an attractive option as a low cost generic separation technique.The present work consists of development and application of SLM technology towards removal of heavy metals and low molecular weight organics from industrial waste effluents. This book describes practical methodologies for the selective removal of metallic species like Pb(II), Cd(II), Cr(VI), Ag(I), Cu(II) Ni(II). Moreover, separation of organic species like textile dye (thioflavin T) and phenols is also discussed in detail. This monograph should be especially useful for scientists working in the areas of membrane science and its applications for the treatment of industrial waste effluents.
