When the Sky Fell

The year is 2217, and Commander Frank Yamane is the captain of the stellar cruiser, Corona, stationed at Saturn's moon, Titan. Having been in the military for most of his life, he is a battle-hardened man who has experienced a series of personal tragedies, including the loss of his beloved wife, Liana. The inability to prevent her death has left him feeling guilt-ridden, and plagued with doubts regarding his ability to lead others. It is these same experiences, however, that have also prepared him for when humanity needs him most when an alien race known as the Deravans attack the Earth without mercy. Knowing he cannot stop them alone, Yamane has no choice but to seek the assistance of an enemy he helped defeat in a war ten years before. The problem is, Commander Yamane knows they have every reason not to come to Earth's rescue.

MIKE LYNCH: Mike currently resides in San Jose, California with his wife, Kathleen, and two children. He graduated from San Jose State University in 1986 with a B.A. in History, and San Jose Christian College with a B.A. in Bible and Theology in 1994. In 2004, he wrote a Bible study guide entitled BibleQuest. Mike has also written, Dublin, a book chronicling the history of Dublin, CA. Published by Arcadia Press, it was released in July 2007. In 2008, Mike's first novel entitled, When the Sky Fell, published by Silver Leaf Books, is scheduled to be released. Mike has also published the short stories, 'No Revolution is Too Big' in the August 2007 edition of Ray Gun Revival magazine, 'The Wrong Place at the Right Time' in the November issue of Ray Gun Revival, and was awarded 'Best of Show' in the Residential Aliens 2007 flash fiction contest for his entry, 'Surf's Up!' BRANDON BARR: Brandon J. Barr was born and raised in Redlands , California where he still lives today with his wife, Amanda. A graduate from California Baptist University, he received a B.A. in English in 2004. Brandon has enjoyed reading and writing from a young age, and began writing his own fiction in 2003. Since then he has published five short stories in the genre magazines such as his short story, 'The Machine Summer' in Revelation: The Magazine of Apocalyptic Art and Literature, 2005, and 'Mikel's Hope' in Haruah: Breath of Heaven, 2006. Brandon also won first place in the Christian Fiction Reviewer's short story contest in 2006 for his story, 'At the End of the Time Jump'. Brandon's most beloved genre's are science fiction, fantasy, and inspiration.
