Whiskey Eyes is a collection of interconnected short fiction pieces about two aging parents who move in with their son and his young family. The underlying tone is one of loss, neglect, abuse, alcoholism and even humor. Incidents range from a father's flashback to a time when he played hockey on an outdoor rink against a team of hearing-impaired players to an episode where his blind mother runs off with an ice cream vendor in search of a liquor store. Whiskey Eyes attempts to show that the son is as blind (or blinder) than his mother. Family tensions are explored and finally resolved with insight and compassion.
