Who Is This Mathematician/scientist?

After reading the biography, students must solve the problems in order to discover the identity of the featured mathematician/scientist. This easy-to-use workbook is full of stimulating activities that will encourage student's interest in number and operations; algebra; geometry; measurement; data analysis and probability and statistics for grades 6 through 12. The class activity sheets are based on the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) standards. The activities can be used as a way to promote multicultural awareness and appreciation by focusing on a mathematician/scientist of that heritage month descendant such as Jamie Escalante for Hispanic/ Latino heritage month, and Florence Nightingale during Women's History Month. It can also be used as a review according to curriculum.
