The Wisdom of Friends had its beginning in the aftermath of a divorce which greatly limited the access of the author¿s children to his side of the family, and to the thoughts and insights he was accumulating. Martin has taken sayings handed down from generation to generation and sayings of more recent origin, personalized them, and amplified them so that they are accessible and meaningful.
