The Witch Bag

The second collection of poetry from Sarah Corbett opens with the title poem, an invocation of woman as witch. Her sensuous and evocative language conjures intimate worlds, and her subjects are often fearlessly personal—birth, death, and love in all of its manifestations. The book includes several sequences, including a series of erotic love sonnets, a group of poems about the birth of a son, vivid impressions of Eastern Europe, and pieces that focus on the death of a father.
