Women in the Military

The role, status, and treatment of women is one of the major issues confronting the military today. Jean Bethke Elshtain is the Laura Spelman Rockefeller Professor of Social and Political Ethics at The University of Chicago Lorry M. Fenner is a Lieutenant Colonel in the United State Air Force. She is currently a member of the National War College faculty at The National Defense University, Ft. McNair, Washington, D.C., where she teaches courses on Military History and Strategy Peter Freedman-Doan is a Research Associate at the University of Michigan's Institute for Social Research. Laura L. Miller is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at the University of California, Los Angeles Brenda L.
