World Yearbook of Education 2012: Policy Borrowing and Lending in Education

In the multinational, cosmopolitan society of today, education has reached a truly global level of importance. No longer can education be seen in isolation, as a single teacher in a school, nor even as a single curriculum or state school system. Today education exists as a series of political and policy related interactions; whether or not these interactions are with a schoolchild in class, between institutions in league tables, or through the global funding of a regional scheme, it is an international perspective on education policy that forms the guiding thread behind.This edited volume aims to bring together contributions from internationally renowned authors that analyse and reflect on the way policy borrowing and lending is configuring and reconfiguring the world of education.
