Will You Choose Joy?: Reflections on Phillipians

Normajean Honsberger's battle with cancer ended May 2, 2000. Diagnoses with breast cancer in 1992, she lost her husband, Al, to lung cancer in the midst of her own struggle. But Normajean didn't give up. She said, "God doesn't ask of me something He hasn's empowered me to do...I can't change my circumstance. The only control I have is how I respond to them. I choose joy!" As an ordained minister, she taught each Sunday and believed God's promis that she would not just have life but "have it more abundantly." This book is a compilation of her sermon series on the book of Philippians that earned her the title "Captain Joy."

Normajean Honsberger was a Salvation Army officer for about 18 years. She serverd with her husband, Al, throughout the northeast United States. She was the mother of two sons, Michael and Stephen; and one daughter, Allison. She enjoyed ministering to young people. She and her husband married 22 couples. She continued to be the pastor of these marriages right up to the time of her death.
