You Are Home

Home begins as a parent’s arms, and as the child in this story grows up, home then has grass, and sky, and a street that doesn’t end. The parent in this story reassures their child that they can keep going, they can find new homes, because wherever they go, they’ll carry the parent’s love. After all, home is where the heart is.

Mackenzie Porter loves writing books inspired by her family. She wrote her first book, In My Heart, when she returned to work after the birth of her daughter. Mackenzie works full-time in a child abuse prevention program and is also studying to obtain her Master of Public Health (MPH) degree. In her spare time, she loves to travel anywhere and everywhere. She lives in Indianapolis, Indiana, with her husband, daughter, dog, and the rest of her big Greek family.

Xin Li was born and raised in China and currently lives in Norway with her husband and their three-year-old daughter. After many years working as an interaction designer in the software design industry, she found her true passion in illustration and visual storytelling. Xin loves quiet magic, surrealism, and stories that evoke imagination.
