BBC Radio 1Xtra broadcaster, DJ, TV presenter and restaurateur Sian Anderson is an exciting new voice in the culinary scene celebrating her Black British identity with Jamaican and St Lucian heritage. After founding her immensely popular restaurant, Octaves, Sian is now sharing her fresh, flavoursome take on Caribbean food.

Among the 80 recipes are contributions from Sian’s famous friends, including Big Zuu, Julie Adenuga and Big Narstie, as she invites them to dinner to discuss their favourite recipes.

Sian Anderson is a media powerhouse and restaurateur. Alongside running Saint Music—her own record label alongside Parlophone Records—Sian also presents The Sian Anderson Show on BBC Radio 1Xtra every Friday and Saturday and a specialist DJ show on Mondays. She is also the presenter of Channel 5/BET’s Big Money Munch, a culinary journey to uncover and celebrate the best Black-owned eateries in the UK. 
 
Sian’s kitchen has always been a space for connection and gathering. Her passion for food is grounded in sharing a meal with others for nourishment and enjoyment. She also took her mate Ed Sheeran’s advice, and opened Octaves, a modern Afro-Caribbean restaurant in London in 2023.
 
Her first self-published cookbook, Sian and Her Son, published in lockdown in 2021.
