The Comprehensive Pennsylvania German Dictionary

This long-awaited encyclopedia dictionary has been compiled and edited for the past 50 years! This first volume covers words in the dialect from "A" to "Ayyel" including pages of terms, definitions, and important contextual sentences. An invaluable introduction covers pronunciation, orthography, the history of Pa. German lexicography, etc. Using not only existing dictionaries as the basis (Lambert, Hower, Kyger), this volume has been developed and added to by many speakers of the dialect both in the U.S. and Canada.
