A Girl and Her Curls

Mom and daughter, Jenna and Jasia, wrote "A Girl and Her Curls" to empower and inspire. Jasia used to come home every day from school wishing she had straight hair like her friends. Being a mom and diversity, equity, and inclusion professional, Jenna set out to teach her daughter to love her curls. It was imperative that Jasia loved who she is! Loving what makes you unique is an important lesson for every child, and even some grown-ups need a reminder.

This book is for anyone who has ever questioned the beauty of their curls, and to show others how magnificent they are. Curly hair is beautiful and unique. Jenna and Jasia encourage you to love every strand, even on frizzy days.

Jenna Pantin-Bermudez is a mom of two beautiful kids, Jasia and Jaxon. She was born in Trinidad and Tobago and has lived in the U.S. for over a decade. A lifelong storyteller, Jenna writes and edits at her full-time job, which focuses on internal communications, diversity, equity, and inclusion. Jenna is also a public speaking and speech fundamentals teacher for kids Grade 4 through 12. Jenna writes on her blog Mommin For J's, to inspire and empower other moms, with a focus on motherhood in the Black community. Co-author Jasia Bermudez is a smart, funny, and caring five-year-old.
