On the Blue Ridge Line is a collection of country-folk-blues lyrics, as well as an exploration of the creative process, in prose. Some of the lyrics are romantic, some focus on nature, and a number touch on social justice issues, including the experience of poverty and homelessness. The exposition regarding creative process is grounded in Eastern philosophy and humanistic psychology.
