Bioinspired Superwettability

The book provides a comprehensive and broad overview of superwettability with concepts borrowed from biology. It starts with the fundamentals of wetting behavior and then covers the preparation and characterization of materials with different degrees of wettability. The major part of the book is devoted to the potential and already realized applications of superwettability.

Lei Jiang is Professor at the Institute of Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China. He received his MSc degree from Jilin University of China and his PhD in physical chemistry jointly from Jilin University of China and Tokyo University, Japan. Professor Jiang?s main research fields are design and fabrication of bioinspired surfaces with controllable wettability as well as the construction of ion channels through the assembly of functional DNA molecules. Professor Jiang has received numerous awards and is member of the editorial boards of multiple renowned journals.
