Marine biologist Micheline Jenner discovered humpback breeding grounds off the Kimberley coast, has swum through orange golfball-sized pygmy blue whale poo to uncover a feeding spot, and is one of very few people to witness a humpback whale giving birth. Micheline Jenner is a marine biologist and co-founder of the Centre for Whale Research (Western Australia) Inc., an organization whose research is represented in more than 50 peer-reviewed scientific papers. She has studied humpback and blue whales and conducted biodiversity and cetacean (whale, dolphin and porpoise) observation surveys since 1990. With her husband Curt, in 2010 Micheline received a Lowell Thomas Award from the Explorers Club for their work protecting blue whales in the Perth Canyon, Western Australia.
