Annette Langer grew up in and around metropolitan Chicago where she received her undergraduate degree Magna Cum Laude from Loyola University with a major in Counseling Psychology. She spent a long career holding various positions with the Federal Government before reaching her ultimate goal--early retirement! Langer then prepared herself for her ôlife afterö and went back to school, training for a second career as a travel agent, work she enjoyed for more than twenty years after that. After living practically her entire life in the Midwest, Langer decided to pull up stakes in 1998 and head to California where she had always wanted to live. She knew she had made the right decision after seeing an advertisement in a travel magazine. It read: The sun comes up in the east as an obligation. Then the sun heads for California out of blatant self-interest. The sun is no dummy. California: find yourself hereà Retired now from the wacky world of travel planning, Langer has immersed herself in volunteer work and has renewed her love for writing, becoming an active member of the Tri-Valley Writers Association. She resides happily in the San Francisco Bay Area where she continues to meet life's challenges, but in better weather. Langer is currently working on her next book entitled, ôA Funny Thing Happened to Me on the Way to the World: Diary of a Fearless Travel Agentö. Watch for it!
