Erinnerungskultur in Sudosteuropa

The wars and processes of change in Southeast Europe in recent years have demonstrated the significant role that outdated myths, legends and traditions still play in the region. This volume from the Southeast Europe Commission of the Göttingen Academy of Science collects case studies on the culture of memory from its beginnings through to the 20th century, and takes an inter-disciplinary look at the individual national cultures and particular aspects of the "ars memorativa".
